Ready to fire kits

Hi,

I was searching and found a few sites that offer ready to solder kits. looks stupid but if you are a biggner and wanna changes just a few things then those kits makes sence in terms of money and efforts both. Does this site offers something like that. I understand that it might be costly and the author has to pay royalties to boss dod etc. still its worth it.

Am I right?

Thanks

Wow, it's been a while since last I was here.  Like what they've done to the place.  Anyhow....  kits can be a great place to start if you've never built a pedal.  Get yer gear together, solder iron etc.  Parts are there, put em in the box and you put it all together.  Yeah! It works.  That's where I started a few years ago at Paia.

A few years later when I build a box it's from scratch.  Keep a few switches and jacks, pots, resistors, capacitors, battery snaps and on.  PCBs are exposed, developed and etched, pads are drilled, board is populated, enclosure is layed out and drilled, components in the box, connect everything and hope to hell you hear something when you hit that button!

There's so much to learn and it takes time but it's a great feeling building an effect from a kit or from scratch and getting that thing to work and then playing through it.

Go for it either way.
