Tremulus Lune doesn't work!!!

I've been trying to build the 4ms Tremulus Lune and have built the circuit twice now, but it never works. First I used a quad op-amp, then I tried using 741's so I could see exactly what's going on. That didn't work either, so I've set it up on bread board and the same problem happens! The LED lights, but does not flash. Try as I might, nothing will make the circuit oscillate. I've switched the inputs, played with capacitor values but all it does is vary the brightness a bit. Why won't the damn thing flash?

All I can think of is that the oscillator circuit only works with fet-input op-amps, HELP please!

Hmm not sure what's happening there. Could it be a problem with the LED/LDR combo?

In mine I used standard a TL072IN and a plain JRC4558DD (that was pulled from a SD-1 during mods) ICs.

Well after it didn't work first time I cut out the signal path bit and concentrated just on the oscillator in trying to get the led's to flash, without the LDR or anything, but it won't do it. I notice there are different scematics floating about, including one for a general purpose oscillator on the 4ms site which is basically identical, but shows the inputs of the oscillator as being swapped round. Although I tried both with no success.
