Tycobrahe Octavia

I am having some problems with the new Octavia I built from this site. I built the NPN version and it sounds good except that Im not getting much out of the two high strings. There is a huge difference in sound between some notes and others. It seems to be acting like a noise gate. The boost pot also doesnt appear to have any function. If anyone has had similar problems or can suggest a solution, Id appreciate it.
Thanks
P.S. The boost pot is connected like this: 3-from capacitor on circuit board, 2 & 1-ground.

From what I've read in trying to troubleshoot my Ampeg Scrambler, false gating, compression, or limiting is caused by bad transistor pinouts.  Unfortunately, I guess that wasn't my problem but maybe it'll help you!  Otherwise, I'm a newbie and you'll have to lean on someone elses sagacity for assistance.  Good luck!

Bryan, it sounds like you might have a problem with that potentiometer. Do a resistance check. It should read very low, when you turn the boost knob, one direction and about as high as the total resistance of the pot, (which may be stamped into the pot's shell) in the other direction.
