Hi Everybody,
Im pretty much a newbie to this effects building stuff. Ive been working in a guitar shop for a while now, so Ive rewired my share of guitars. Ive also delved into cicuit bending, and I am not a stranger to chematics. However, when I have built pedals, I dont always understand WHY im doing what Im doing. I sit there and solder resistor after resistor wondering "I wonder why this is doing to the sound of my pedal?" Ideally, I would like to come up with my own original stuff. Can anyone suggest a good starting point for me, so I can begin to undertand why a fuzz pedal sounds like a fuzz pedal? Maybe a book? Even some sage advice from other DIYers out there would be greatly appreciated.
