What was your problem when you weren't getting fuzz before?  I just soldered together my first one last night, and when bypassed it passes the signal just fine, when I turn it on the LED comes on (gotta count my victories where I find them) and the sound gets a tiny bit darker with no fuzz but there's this clicking noise... when I turn either pot up the clicking happens more... is that my beautiful germanium clipping?  I hope not.
