OD/Distortion project for Country band?

I'm going to be doing some country stuff and just wanted some feedback as to what kind of distortion I might want to try out for it. Normally I lean towards the heavy sounds, but those wont work here.
I'm using a Talman with Kent Armstrong Lipsticks, and a Gibson goldtone GA15 amp. Its a great amp, but SUPER clean. I've got an Orange Squeezer ready to go for the clean spank tone... but I think Im gonna need the grit that my amp cant/wont do.
What do you guys recomend?

These are derivitaves of TS and Dist+.

The TR is simpler and spankier sounding than a TS.

The LD is much smoother than a DIST+.

  Both are diode clippers.

TR a feedback loop D.Clipper, softer clipping and smooth sound..and can be tuned...changing diodes adding diodes etc. voicing.

LD is a diode to ground clipper, also tunable, [stock sounds great], for harder clipping tones, leans more toward OD than Fuzz compared to DIST+...very nice.

There are 10000002 transistor type circuits, like the Amp Emulators, these are widely variable from one to the next, generally illiciting less grindy Fuzz and more amp like response...check out the Jfet = tube amp designs at Runoff Groove...I built a 16 and a couple others that would seem to fit your criterion very well. Adding/subtracting Jfet gain stages is a good way to control OD/Distortion, perhaps a 3 Jfet amp sim And a Jfet gain stage [Fetzer, Stratoblaster...etc.] would range to tones you're after.
