I was wondering if there was a reason why the Fuzz Central schematic for the Tone Machine specifically calls for Orange Drop caps? What differentiates Orange Drops from other film types? Is that what the original used? Thanks.
Cool, thanks. I was getting the parts together last night, looks like I'll be mainly using "greenies" - had a couple of the values in orange drops - but they are pretty big. -Still wondering about the difference (if any) between orange drops and other comparable caps.
Can't wait to try it out - been wanting to build this one since I first got into stompbox building but kept putting it off and doing other pedals instead.
Yup, I think greenies will work out well in this pedal too.
The orange drops I have are 10% tolerance - same as the greenies.
I guess the various cap types can color the sound a little differently and some people just like the way orange drops sound. I haven't used any orange drops yet - not sure if they really sound much different than anything else.
