Axis Fuzz Si problems

I'm a beginner at this box building thing, so please be kind.  I just put the AF Si together and realized that I don't know how to wire up the pots.  I added an LED and adapter jack and am trying to use the wiring tutorial from General Guitar Gadgets (which I've used successfully on other effects), but I'm getting no sound at all whether the switch is on or off.  Can anyone help?

I forgot to add that when I hook up a multimeter on Q2 collector like suggested, the trim pot only goes from about 9.4v to 9.1v with a new battery.  Don't know if that helps or not.

on the general guitar gadgets site there is a ez diagram for the easy face that should showhow to wire the pots..as for the voltage problem make sure all of your solder joints on the trim pot are good, or eliminate the trim and use a 8.2k resistor and post your voltages after

I'm going to have to try the GGG wiring layout or something.  I'm not even getting a bypassed signal with the original Axis Fuzz Si diagram from the FAQ.  I've redone this thing twice, including taking the adapter jack out of the loop just to simplify, and I'm still getting zip.

Shouldn't there be a ground to the switch somewhere?

Am I correct in the belief that (from the layout) point #1 is the circuit input and point #7 is the circuit output?

Thanks in advance for the help.
